Quotes and a poem called Don't Quit

I finally decided to retrieve my quote book so here are a few of the ones I feel like sharing today. There is also a poem included called Don't Quit, the author of this brilliant piece is unknown.

Quotes:

Never look back on the past, you may trip over the future.

Fear is that little dark room where negatives are produced.

A thousand enemies outside the house are better than one within.

Some books should be tasted, some devoured, but only a few should be chewed and digested thoroughly.

Live in the present, remember the past, and fear not the future, for it doesn't exist and never shall. There is only now.

Of course she found it in the last place she looked. If she hadn't found it, she'd still be looking.

A friend is someone who walks in when the whole world has walked out.

Friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our own wings have trouble remembering how to fly.

Don't Quit:

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow --
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint to the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell just how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
