Here come the Golden Days :)

Song of the Day: Golden Days by The Damnwells!! This is one of my happy songs :) Youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_m6l7pzJkQ Seriously, check that one out. Even if you havent liked any of the other music I have posted. This and Come On Get Higher by Matt Nathanson ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atmh1p6pNQk )  are amazing :)
Today I am just putting the lyrics, my apologies :)

Golden Days:
On you mark get ready set
and run away for good
there's a bold and brighter light
where my soul once stood

fall apart confetti com on
cry right on my sleeve
i am just a ghost of hearts
that break bittersweet

am i in too
yea can't hear much
but the melody commin from you
baby please don't rush
keep the tempo slow and you
let me hear the words you say
lets go and get tangled in chains of golden days

counting down T minus 10
and wait i still believe
there's a distance in your eyes
only mine can see

leave the ground behind us
I'll be floating round your lips
I am just a host arms
holding one for which

am i in too
yea can't hear much
but the melody commin from you
baby please don't rush
keep the tempo slow and you
let me hear the words you say
lets go and get tangled in chains of golden days

(bridge)

am i in too
yea can't hear much
but the melody commin from you
baby please don't rush
keep the tempo slow and you
let me hear the words you say
lets go and get tangled in chains of golden days

am i in too
yea can't hear much
but the melody comin from you
baby please don't rush
keep the tempo slow and you
let me hear the words you say
lets go and get tangled in chains of golden days
lets go and get tangled in chains of golden days
lets go and get tangled in chains of golden days
lets go and get tangled in chains of golden days

Cyanide and Happiness

Song of the day? Crossfire by Brandon Flowers. My friend gave it to me and oh goodness :) Apparently it is quite mainstream, and although that isnt what I usually listen to, here goes. Youtube link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AhU12zC8fc
hopefully these are some smiles for your day. Cyanide and Happiness, which is my favourite webcomic, continuously makes my day. I havent checked in for awhile, but you should! www.explosm.net. I dont like Daves comics though (Sorry Dave.)

EvilLyrics- Automatically uploads lyrics onto the song description

Another awesome music tool that you can use if you are a fanatic like I am is EvilLyrics. You set it up for iTunes, then turn iTunes on and play a song, THEN opening EL. EL then searches the internet for the lyrics for the song, and uploads them to the songs description, without you having to lift a finger. It is really quite handy to have lyrics on your iPod, for those songs you have no idea what the singer says on a certain line. EL is also another very small program you need to download. But I swear by both EvilLyrics and Last.fm (check last post) :)

Oh my gosh. I just had an idea. I might do a song of the day... Not including the lyrics to all of them, but maybe a youtube link... Ahh! Yes. Okay, first song of the day: Umm... Wires by Athlete. : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uriGngTXyrE

Last.fm Review- How to find music that you love using music you already have

This is a music tool that everyone should have if they truly love music, and like seeking out branches of music they have never heard of but finding music they love. www.last.fm is the link for it, and it is a fabulous website with many different tools to help you find music. Sign up for it and you can:

1) Download the Scrobbler (which is only 5mb, and I guarantee no viruses) which can access your music player (like iTunes) and it transfers the names of the bands and songs that you always listen to. From that, it can recommend music to you based on your taste, and you can browse people who listen to almost identical music to you to find more

2) You can subscribe to the Recommended Radio, which turns on a radio and plays songs based on the music from your profile (you should download the Scrobbler for it) but you do have to pay a small fee. I chose not to subscribe, just because I am cheap ;)

3) You can browse without signing up or downloading anything at all. You just type in your favourite artist into the search bar, scroll down their profile while looking at the left toolbar, and go to Similar Artists, which lists similar bands based on how similar

Check it out :) I have found such amazing bands through it :) Tell me what you think of it!

It seems I missed posting

Phew, finding a new template was exhausting. The pictures arent completely out of whack anymore though, and I kind of like the setup :)
So what I also wrote about in my last post before my laptop went crazy was how I have been researching (like, lose sleep over and fail math tests kind of researching because of the amount of time put into it) about how to start a website, with the domains and the hosting and man... Just figured it out :) Once I get them started, I'll probably post links to here. Whereas this blog is for music and for quotes and neat little pictures, I also want a travel blog (which I also spent a ridiculous amount of time researching) and maybe even a blog about how to be eco friendly (I am going to do the "One Year No Trash" challenge next year where you recycle everything, dont purchase items that cant be recycled, compost, all that fun stuff :) I am excited!

Okay, PostSecret time:

People actually visit this blog? What?

Okay, first of all, I hate my laptop. With an intensity that could match the sun. I just had a lovely entry written out and then it spazzed and refreshed the page :( Also with my laptop, the h key doesnt work (its on copy and paste) the g key doesnt work (I have to tap furiously at it with the touchpad because my left click mouse button also does not work, my apostrophe doesnt work (oh you poor contractions :( ) the esc key doesnt work, and neither does the left ctrl, and the 5 and 6 do not work. While interacting on facebook or msn, I generally just replace the g with a 9 :) It is pretty effective!
Secondly, holy crapola, I didnt know people actually visited this blog, but I just checked the stats and would you look at that! Which means I will start to be a regular again :)
So! Song for now, because I need sleep. :)
Andrew Belle is a new artist in my music collection. My friend downloaded his song "In My Veins" (From Greys Anatomy) and I in turn downloaded more of him. I personally like "I'll Be Your Breeze" best :) Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nQ8puSZJ4M

And lyrics. Enjoy :)
he walks in the bedroom and picks up the phone
he's singing to the beat of the dialtone
if he could, he would shrink down
to fit through these holes
in rubber and plastic, that'd be fantastic
he'd crawl through these phonelines
to castles or farms
or just across the stateline
and into your arms
we'd learn to distinguish
truth from false alarms
and fade into summer
like we were the months of the year

and we'll fall asleep
every night so easily
like some kind of brand new disease
hey, we got it but c'est la vie
don't you wonder how villains sleep
every night so easily
if they can do it, baby, so can we
just remember i'll be your breeze

oh well i feel like myself
i finally feel like myself
honey don't you feel like yourself
feel like yourself
cause i learned we all play
our part in this thing
we've all got a song
we were put here to sing
it's less of a circle and more of a ring
that keeps up together
like we were prize fighters

and we'll fall asleep
every night so easily
like some kind of brand new disease
hey, we got it but c'est la vie
don't you wonder how villains sleep
every night so easily
if they can do it, baby, so can we
just remember i'll be your breeze

oh, i'll be like that
heart that you cut out
and pinned on your sleeve
i thought i told you
that i needed you
just to keep...

(i'll be)
(i'll be your breeze)
fall asleep
every night so easily
like some kind of brand new disease
hey, we got it but c'est la vie
don't you wonder how villains sleep
every night so easily
if they can do it, baby, so can we
just remember i'll be your breeze
oh, i'll be your breeze, easily.
oh, i'll be your breeze, easily.
oh, i'll be your breeze.

Down by Something Corporate

Let's get drunk

You can drive us to the harbor
Wish upon a star but
Do you know what stars are?
Balls of fire, burning up the black space
Falling from the landscape
Exploding in the face of God

Let's get crazy,
Talk about our big plans
Places that you're going
Places that I haven't been
Build my walls up
Concrete castle
Keep this kingdom free of hassle, yeah
Yeah
Yeah

I hear sound echo in the emptiness
All around but you can't change this loneliness
Look what you've found, I've fallen down

Taste the saline rolling down your cheekbone
Tell me that you're alone, tell me on the telephone
Feel your heart it breaks within your chest now
Try to get some rest now,
Sleep's not coming easy for a while, child
Child, yeah

I hear sound echo in the emptiness
All around but you can't change this loneliness
Look what you've found, I've fallen down
Down, down
Down, down

I hear sound echo in the emptiness
All around but you can't change this loneliness
Look what you've found, I've fallen down
Look at what you've found, I'm falling down
Look at what you've found, I'm falling down

Garden of Love by Aqualung

In the garden of love I saw

A moment of sun in her eye
And everything was quiet

In the garden of love I saw
Starlight sigh and shadow move
Faltering, no faltering
Faltering
Before you go, a few words for your heart
Before you turn, something to ponder in your heart
As you go
In our garden of love we grew
Roses so red our hearts were busted open
All feeding on the dream we made
The bright and beautiful parade
That bloom by bloom began to fade
And blow by blow, oh

Before you go, a few words for your heart
Before you turn, something to ponder in your heart
As you go
How we tried to make everything right
How we fought and we talked through the night
How we nearly
Made it
In the garden of love I saw
A moment of sun in her eye
And everything was quiet

Stepping out into the light
Other side of the window
Blinking and blind in the light
Other side of the window
Falter, no faltering now
Other side of the window
Falter, no faltering now
That journey is over
Over
Over
There's only so much that our heart can grow
Then everything else starts to overflow
And you're young and in love
Back then there was no way of knowing
So we pushed and we pulled with our nerves of steel
You had the pedals and I had the wheel
And the terrible misillusions
We never knew where we were going

There's only so much that our heart can grow
Then everything else starts to overflow
But you're young and in love
Back then there was no way of knowing

Music and a tool that converts Youtube movies to mp3 files

I just downloaded a bunch of music, and I have a bunch of favourites in them already. Firstly, there is one song that I downloaded for my "Bad Day" playlist. It's called You Can Never Get Lost by Piano Magic. Ah, it's beautiful. It was hard to download; I had to use Zamzar (www.zamzar.com . You copy and paste the Youtube link and can convert it to mp3 and it emails it to you and voila! You have it on your computer :) ) to convert it from Youtube to get it on my computer. Secondly, Radiohead. I have heard of them for years, but have never bothered downloading any. Out of the songs I have so far, I like Romeo & Juliet. Thirdly, I have two songs by Jason Reeves, who has a beautiful voice. I like the song Someone, Somewhere. Fourthly, Escape the Fate. I am actually a huge fan of Escape the Fate, the way that they sound like they would be totally screamo, but how they actually sing (for the majority of it anyway). I downloaded some more City & Colour. There is also another song for my "Bad Day" playlist called Waiting for My Real Life To Begin.
